Around The Bends

And here I'm walking to the beat of the street
And then I'm turning at the corners for more
Come round and round and again
Walk through the bustle of the city around the bend

And now I'm walking like I walk in the air
Could I be dancing? I am everywhere
It's ringing in my eardrums
The steady rhythm of the city makes me numb

But when you feel the wind
Beneath the blue sky
And when your wind is fair
There may be luck in my way

People are walking just to get to the town
People are talking just as loud as they can
Not much to be said or done
The man at diner seems he's never had a fun

I can be happy if you want me to be
I can pretend it, do you see what I mean?
Caught in the traffic of lights
Walk through the motions and there's nothing in my sight

And when the wind has gone
From tears of sorrow
Wait till your day is done
There may be luck in your way

It always comes out of nowhere
And you are caught in the dark
All on your own
No one's around
Just run to the exit!

I start to walk again, I've been here before
And then I'm turning at the corners for more
Come round and round and again
Or am I waiting just to see the light of day?
