For The Crows

Nothing really counts until it's left in pieces
Nothing really hurts until you have to say goodbye and you don't
know why
But you do it
Everything is left without that vital feeling
Everything you touch it falls apart and starts to die and you don't
know why
But you do it

Flatten down the edges, there's spaces in between
I've got the thrill of the chase to get me by
It's a simple 'erase' to dry the eyes
Patterns on the ceiling, no others to be seen
And when I'm given the space to take it on
Have to give up the race before it's gone

Like all the things I'll never be
Discarded disappointments
A broken secret left to keep but is there any point now?

Slipping past the questions and sick of what they mean
But in the middle of getting out you find
That there's little belief in reasons why

Pissing on the embers like it matters to a dying flame
Never took another but I wish it, back around again
Missing all the meaning, nothing matters when you're all the same
Give it up and let it go as long as you still have a name
